Meet Dr. May, ND

Dr. May hails from Texas, where he was born and raised until moving to Seattle for medical school. He practices family medicine with an emphasis in nonpharmaceutical pain management, endocrine disorders (diabetes, hypothyroid, weight gain), epigenetics, mens’ health, and environmental medicine (food allergies, environmental toxins, etc.).

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN IN ALASKA? AND WHY DID YOU MOVE HERE?

I moved here in 2009 with my wife and kids seeking what most Alaskans, I think, are looking for… opportunity and adventure. So far, I’d say it’s been right on the money.

PREVIOUS CAREERS?

I was full tilt into the fitness world for about 10 years. I worked mostly as a personal trainer at gyms and athletic trainer for sports teams, however, I spent several years managing gyms and teaching group fitness classes as well.

HOBBIES AND OTHER INTERESTS?

I am a sports and recreation junkie. If I can throw it, hit it or shoot; I’m usually game.

Meet Jeff Hull, health coach and personal trainer 

Jeff was born and raised in Texas.  He offers health coaching and personal training services, specializing in behavior modification, and is an integral part of implementing many of Dr. May’s weight loss and diet related protocols. His degree in psychology makes him uniquely gifted in identifying and addressing behaviors preventing people from accomplishing their health goals.

PREVIOUS CAREERS

I have always been drawn to helping others both mentally and physically. In Texas, I worked as a behavior therapist and site manager. While there, I helped both children and adults with mental illnesses overcome disabilities, teach them living skills and how to cope with their daily surroundings. I also worked as a personal trainer at a gym and from home assisting people lose weight and meet their health and wellness goals.

HOBBIES AND OTHER INTERESTS

I love playing sports and being outdoors. I enjoy working out and competing in cross fit competitions, dancing, running, camping and reading new studies / books on health and fitness.

Meet Regina Letonek, LMT

Regina has been a Licensed Massage Therapist in Alaska since 2016 and began working with Dr. May in 2017. She is trained in classic Swedish  and Myofascial Massage techniques. She is extremely gifted in deep tissue massage and works in conjunction with Dr. May’s therapies to restore range of motion expeditiously. She really enjoys educating clients about myofascial techniques and how this modality can be enhance their functionality in life.

Costs: 1 hour = $120 | 30 minutes = $75

I moved to Alaska 5 years ago, looking for a place with unique job opportunities. In addition to connecting with family, Fairbanks has been an  adventure with tremendous opportunity and possibilities.

PREVIOUS CAREERS

I have worked as a Bank Teller for several years and really enjoy it, however I view being a Massage Therapist as my first real career.
I’m passionate about Massage Therapy and it’s not just something I do for a job.

Reading, movies, ice skating, family, church community, meditation, yoga, heading to the gym.

Meet Dr. Aimee Burgess, Chiropractor

Dr. Aimee moved to Fairbanks two years ago from Tucson, Arizona in search of adventure and a new perspective of life. She has a passion for connecting with others and helping them connect with their inner wisdom and healing abilities.

Dr. Aimee provides whole family care, and she specializes in prenatal and postnatal care,
as well as working with infants and children. The most common things she’s treated
while working with children include colic, nursing issues, ear infections, sleep issues,
hyperactivity, and neuromuscular-related issues. She is currently working on her pediatric
diplomate through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association and has a strong
desire to work with children with neurodevelopmental disorders (i.e., Autism spectrum,
Aspergers, ADHD, sensory issues, etc).
